Terms and Conditions
By renting product(s) from Princes’ Gowns, customers agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Age Requirement
- Customers under 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian before entering into a rental agreement.
- The guardian must be aware of and accept these Terms and Conditions.
Our Commitment
- All gowns are thoroughly inspected, cleaned, and prepared before being made available for rent.
- We make every effort to provide gowns in excellent condition.
Customer Responsibilities
- Once a gown is picked up, you are fully responsible for its care and condition.
- Do not alter, wash, or attempt to clean the gown yourself.
- Gowns must be returned by the agreed date and time.
- You are responsible for all applicable fees related to late return, damage, or loss.
Fitting Appointments
Gowns
- Appointments can be booked via Messenger, our website, or email.
- A non-refundable fitting fee must be paid in full to confirm the booking.
- Each session lasts 30–45 minutes and allows one customer plus up to two companions.
- Penalties:
- $5 – Late arrival
- $10 – Late cancellation/reschedule (less than 24 hours’ notice)
- $20 – No-show
Cultural Attire (Barong/Filipiniana)
- Fitting appointments are free for up to 30 minutes.
- Maximum 3 customers per session.
- For groups larger than 3, please book an additional session.
- Penalties
(same as for gowns): - $5 – Late arrival
- $10 – Late cancellation/reschedule (less than 24 hours’ notice)
- $20 – No-show
Reservation & Payment
- A 50% deposit is required to reserve a gown.
- The remaining balance plus a bond fee (50% of the rental price) must be paid at least 2 weeks before the pick-up date.
- The bond is refundable if the gown is returned on time and in good condition.
- Deductions apply for late returns or any necessary repairs.
- All prices are listed in NZD.
Pick-Up
- Gowns and cultural attire may be picked up 1–2 days before the event, at the agreed time.
- Customers must inspect the gown upon collection. Any concerns or issues must be
reported immediately. - All rented items remain the legal property of Princes’ Gowns.
Return
- Items must be returned 1–2 days after the event, at the agreed time.
- Late returns incur a 25% fee of the rental price per day.
- If the gown is not returned within 15 days, the bond will be forfeited, and the matter may be referred to debt collection at the customer’s expense.
- If a late return results in the cancellation of another customer’s booking, you may be charged for the lost rental.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking will incur a cancellation fee:
- $20 per Barong/Filipiniana
- $50 per gown
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours after booking, but at least 4 weeks before pick-up, are eligible for a partial refund or store credit, less the applicable cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made less than 4 weeks before pick-up are not eligible for a refund, but store credit will be issued (valid for 12 months).
- If Princes’ Gowns cancels due to gown unavailability or damage, a full refund, store credit, or an alternative gown will be offered.
- Rentals affected by COVID-19 restrictions may be rescheduled or credited.
- We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us to discuss your situation, and we will do our best to assist.
Damage, Cleaning & Bond
- A standard cleaning fee is included in the rental price.
- Minor damage (under $30) is covered by Princes’ Gowns.
- If repair costs exceed $30, the customer is responsible for the difference.
- Gowns returned with heavy staining (e.g. makeup, fake tan, alcohol, etc.) may incur additional dry-cleaning charges.
- If the gown is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, the customer is liable for up to 100% of the retail value, minus any rental and bond fees already paid.
- All applicable costs will first be deducted from the bond. Any remaining balance must be paid by the customer.
