Customers who rent product(s) from “Princes’ Gowns” are strongly bound to these “Terms and Conditions”:
Customers under the age of 18 who will wear or use our product(s) must obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian before agreeing to this contract. Customers under the age of 18 must inform their parent/legal guardian of their intention to rent and the contents of these “Terms and Conditions”.
The Customer acknowledges that in case of violation of the rules defined in the “Terms and Conditions” that Princes’ Gowns has the right to ask for the described modifications.
Our Commitment
We make sure that all product(s) match the quality level that we have described our product(s) to be at, clean and ready to wear. We inspect our product(s) carefully before making them available for rent. We are committed in helping our you to SHINE BRIGHT and STAND OUT.
Customer’s Obligations
Once the garment has been picked-up, you are then responsible for its safety. Therefore, please look after it! If the product(s) is stolen because negligence, you are legally in its possession, therefore it is in your responsibility.
Customer’s obligations include, but not limited to:
- Take care of the product(s) as best as possible
- Do not alter and/or wash the product(s)
- The product(s) must be returned no later than the next business day after your rental date
- Pay any penalties
Fitting Appointments
We recommend that you book a “Fitting Appointment” with us before deciding whether to rent or buy from us. Fitting appointment is optional; however, you can’t hold us accountable (no refund policy applies) if our product(s) doesn’t fit you.
Bookings can be made directly via Facebook messenger, website, or email. We take bookings up to 6 months in advance. Bookings are secured when the fitting appointment fee is fully paid (fitting fee is only applicable for gowns). The fitting appointment fee is not refundable. You can try or fit as many product(s) as you can within 30-45 minutes of your appointment. In case the allotted time is not enough, it’s best to book multiple appointment slots. We only allow one customer (with a maximum of 2 companions) per appointment.
Arriving late or not arriving at all at your scheduled appointment or failing to call to cancel or reschedule an appointment with 24-hour’s notice is unfair to other customers who would have been happy to make an appointment, disrespectful of our time and interferes with the efficient operation of our Princes’ Gowns. We make our boutique and ourselves available to your appointment on-time very seriously. We hope that you do as well.
Details of penalties as follows:
$5 Late arrival penalty – You’re expected to arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment so that we can answer any questions you may have and help you complete all the necessary paperwork before you start fitting our product(s).
$10 Late cancellation and/or late reschedule penalty – Your appointment has been scheduled specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to avoid a penalty.
$20 No Show penalty- Your appointment has been scheduled specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to avoid a penalty.
Item Information
Size details on the product(s)’ tag is our recommended garment size. We are not liable if this description is not entirely accurate for you.
Princes’ Gowns product(s) may have been previously worn, dry cleaned and repaired by us; The condition of our rental product(s) is “new”, “like new” or “near new”. Due to the nature of the garment being worn repeatedly, minor repairs and visible imperfections can occur. We recommend that all customers inspect our product(s) before renting.

COVID-19 Precautions
All customers are still required to wear masks. We are waiting for news from the Government about the mask exemption process changes.
To reduce risks, customers should either sanitize their hands before and after fitting or wear disposable gloves.
Rent
Renting with Princes’ Gowns means purchasing the right to wear our product(s) for the duration of your agreed rental date. Only the agreed customer can wear the rented product(s) and the product(s) can only be worn on the agreed rental date. This means that the rented product(s) is for single use and should not be shared with other people during their rental period.
Payment
The rental fees for your selected product(s) are shown on www.princesgowns.xyz, displayed during the payment process, or given during your Fitting Appointment. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). By submitting your order, you agree to authorise us to immediately charge your selected payment method for the rental fee. We do not hold the product(s) until payment is received, so we recommend that you book your rental date at least a week before the date of your event.
Pick up
Customers are required to pick up the rented product(s) during business hours 2 days prior to the agreed rental date.
It is our responsibility to provide you with a dress that is in great condition. Customers are required to inspect the product(s) for damage to avoid paying the penalty of this damage.
If you have any concerns with the product(s), please let us know before you take the product(s) away from Princes’ Gowns boutique. If you fail to do so, you will be subject to compensation for this damage upon return of the garment.
Princes’ Gowns always remain the legal owner of the product(s).
Cancellation
All cancellations must be made within 24 hours of the order submission to avoid paying the cancellation fee. Within 24 hours, we will give you a full refund or store credit for the total value of your order.
A cancellation fee of $20 per order is applicable to all rental bookings cancelled after 24 hours of submitting your order. If your event is cancelled or you cancel your rental bookings, Princes’ Gowns will refund the rental fee less the $20 cancellation fee. The $20 cancellation fee applies per garment.
Cancellation must be advised at least 2 weeks prior to the rental date to be eligible for a refund, otherwise, there will be no refund.
Princes’ Gowns reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice. Reasons for cancellation may include (but are not limited to) a product(s) not being available due to late return by a previous customer or damage to a product(s). Princes’ Gowns endeavour to provide as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation by Princes’ Gowns, Princes’ Gowns offers a full refund, store credit or the option to change the booking to another product(s).
For rentals affected by Covid-19 restrictions, we will ONLY be offering a store credit or the option to reschedule the rental date. Please feel free to email us to arrange this if you have been affected.
Limitations of our Liability
Princes’ Gowns will not be held liable to you or any other third party, for any unforeseen circumstances or circumstances due to errors in the information given to us by the Customer. You solely hold responsibility for the product(s) during the rental period, if any, damage and/or claims are made against you because of occurrences that happened while you were responsible for the product(s) regardless of whether they weren’t your own doing or out of your control, you will be held solely responsible for the costs incurred. Princes’ Gowns will not be liable to the Customer or any third party for any damage or loss resulting from any defect.
Postage
This service is not yet available. We encourage our customer to book a fitting appointment before renting. This is to ensure our product(s) meets your expectation and fits you well.
We will try to make this service available to our customers outside of Christchurch that are not able to come for a fitting appointment.
Return
Once a rental product(s) has been picked up, there are no returns or refunds for change of mind, even the product(s) is returned unworn within the rental period or on the booking end date.
The product(s) must be returned on the agreed drop-off date and time. Customers are expected to return the product(s) during Princes’ Gowns business hours. If the return date falls on a day that the boutique is closed (Tuesday and Public Holidays) customers are required to return the product(s) the next business day within business hours.
You will be liable to pay the full recommended retail price if you do not follow the correct drop off instructions and the dress is stolen. Please contact us first if you need to ship back the product(s).
Customers must notify Princes’ Gowns as soon as possible if there is a delay in the return of the product(s), so that we can inform other customers.
Late returns incur late fee of 25% of the rental price per day. If any late fee remains unpaid by you after 7 days from the date of demand, Princes’ Gowns reserves the right to take all steps necessary to collect amounts due from you, including but not limited to legal action and/or using third party collection agencies. All debt collection fees will be at your expense.
If the customer has not returned the rental product(s) within 15 days after the return date, Princes’ Gowns will consider the rental product(s) as non-returned and will charge the Customer’s credit card 100% of the recommended retail value in addition to the rental fee that the Customer has already paid. The credit card on file will be charged and if unsuccessful, referred to a debt collection agency.
Late fees also apply to late payments of the replacement costs of garments, damage, and cleaning fee.
If you return the product(s) late and due to this another rental must be cancelled, you are required to pay compensation to the value of the rental that has had to be cancelled.
If there is alcohol, fake tan, make up stains and other extremely dirty markings, there may be an extra dry-cleaning charge. This is at the discretion of Princes’ Gowns, and we will invoice you accordingly when returned in an unacceptable state.
If any rental is returned in unusable condition due to stains, cigarette marks, dirt, or any other undisclosed nuances, then the customer is liable for the full replacement fee of the recommended retail value.
Dry Cleaning
Customers can choose to pay an additional $15 for cleaning fee or bring the fabric to their trusted professional dry-cleaning shop (customers are required to provide a copy of the dry-cleaning receipt) to ensure the product(s)’ cleanliness before returning it. Customers agree not to attempt to clean the garment(s) without the proper care instruction, if the customer attempts to clean the garment(s) and it results in permanent damage, additional costs may incur.
Damage to rental Product(s) or Lost and Stolen rental Product(s)
We expect that our customers will look after the rental product(s). However, there is a possibility that some damage will occur. For minor damages which can be repaired at a cost under $30, Princes’ Gowns will not charge customers.
Princes’ Gowns offer free damage insurance worth thirty dollars ($30) for minor damages. Princes’ Gowns will assess the damage at our own discretion. If the cost of repairs, according to our assessment, exceeds thirty dollars ($30), the customer must pay the difference (example: If the repair cost is $100, then Princes’ Gowns will require the customer to pay $70.)
The repair or replacement costs will be charged to the customer credit card details that were provided at the time of booking. Customers will be notified of all charges in advance. Repair or replacement cost may be up to the amount listed as the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) at the time of booking, less the rental fee.
If the product(s) gets lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, theft, or damage is attributable to any negligence, failure, or omission of the customer then the customer will be liable to pay for replacement of the product(s). In assessing the replaceable value, Princes’ Gowns will consider, the demand of that dress in the market, the availability to purchase that dress in the market, the condition of the dress, and the rental fee that the customer has already made. Charges can be up to 100% of the recommended retail value in addition to the rental cost that the customer has already paid.
If any wages payable remains unpaid by you after 7 days from the date of demand, Princes’ Gowns reserves the right to take all steps necessary to collect amounts due from you, including but not limited to legal action and/or using third party collection agencies. All debt collection fees will be at your expense.
